Sailing   the   Great  Barrier   Reef  

In June, 2006, we headed to Australia to visit my dad and do some sailing on famous Great Barrier Reef. Arriving in Sydney, we spent a couple days enjoying one of my new favorite cities before catching a flight north to Brisbane. In Sydney we were lucky enough to have a great Austrlian family to stay with while we explored. Among the higlihgts of Sydney for us were a delicious dinner of mussels on the quay (pronounced "key"), riding the ferries around the harbour, and of course visiting the Sydney Opera House.

Our next stop was in Brisbane, where we spent only a day before setting sail north towards warmer waters. We did have time to visit the Koala Preserve where we saw plenty of cute bears and some kangaroos. Michaela got to hold three of them, each of which promptly shat on her. Not sure whether it was because she smelled funny or just because she scared the crap out of them.
